Artist's Statement
Although most of the art displayed at
this site are figure studies, some of my other
pieces come under
the category of what I call survivor (not victim) art. I try to
capture
something of my life experience in a sculpture in hopes of
provoking the response of
''I've been there too.''

The following is a quote of Keith Althus that I
hope you can relate to.
"I like art that is neither trivialized nor
inflated , that is frank and open,
that challenges, but not to solve,
like a problem or a puzzle, but to understand.
Here are the last few
lines of a poem about my days as an art student:
| '...art is just a hook
to draw us back
to a place
we've been before
there was art
but cannot reach
without it.' " |
